So The Weather Is Supposed To Be Good

It was a really nice day.
I'm finally feeling like I can start getting a bit of a routine down in the morning, and with that I think my days will run a lot more smoothly.  So far, I'm still waking up at around 5:30am, lie in bed for 2 hours with my eyes closed and then I get up, snack on some yogurt and drink a cup of water, then I move onto yoga/workout routine and then eat breakfast.
I actually put a little effort into my appearance today which I have been neglecting since I got here (haha), honestly I've been too disoriented to attempt it.   Anyway, afterwards I put on my coat and my gloves and I headed out the door. I figured if I put too much anticipation behind leaving, I'd never leave the house. So I started walking and immediately felt better.  The air was crisp and the sky was clear of clouds which illuminated everything around me which was amazing.  I really had a chance to look at the buildings, the people, and the cars.  There's not much in the way of shrubs or trees right now just because it's winter and everything is bare. I continued onward and looked at the shops around our neighborhood, there are an unbelievable amount of barber shops along Easter Road and then there are pharmacies and small convenience type shops and multiple "charity shops", or second-hand stores. There was also a foot care shop on Montrose Terrace which I contemplated going in just to see how they could fill an entire store with just foot care products... but I kept walking, maybe I'll check it out tomorrow.  I was initially looking for Princes Shopping Park but what I had searched up in Google maps was not the right mall, and instead I found Meadowbank Shopping Park which is probably the seniors mall I'm guessing just based on the lack of shops there.  As I walked down the ram, I was greeted by 3 old ladies just shuffling along the sidewalk in front of the TK Maxx (which I didn't go into, resisting temptation to shop until I can get a job) and the clothes are so cheap in there! Just window shopped of course.  I went into this home decor and random items store to pick up a few things and I should have taken a picture of the chocolate section because it was massive.  There was this Twix bar package that was as long as my arm, and a vast variety of sweets and crisps! I think I spent a good 10 minutes drooling over it all.  Then this lady came up to me and told me I looked beautiful (my spiffing up this morning was successful!) and we talked for about 10 minutes as I helped her pick out a cover for her ottoman and we talked about her job on Edinburgh council and her son who is completing his masters degree at the university.  It was really nice and unexpected, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Afterwards I made my way back to Scotmid to pick up some groceries for home and now I'm eating a sandwich and watching Hot Fuzz while relaxing.  I really want to go back out for a walk though because it's only just about 2pm here, but I won't just cause my legs have been a little wonky since my lovely train ride and I've yet to feel 100% so I don't want to push it just quite yet, my legs hurt after only an hour and a bit of walking today.  Tonight I'm going to the Pausing Place with Erin and Kurtis and I'm nervous to be meeting all their friends at once, but I'm more worried about sitting in silence for an hour.  I'm going to read a book I think.  After we sit for the hour, someone makes dinner for everyone and then we share in a meal together.  It sounds really lovely but my jet lag has my eyes closing on their own at about 7pm every night and I don't think I'll make it through the hour of silence without passing out.  If that happens, I guess it'll make for an embarrassing story to tell nonetheless.

I am going to finish my movie now
HOLY CRAP the mailman just scared the crap out of me.  There's a two doors to get into the flat - one from the street and then one to the living room and it sounded like someone was trying to jimmy-open the front door.  Wowza.  But now I have some cool flyers to flip through as I watch my movie.

Love

Here are the two pictures I took of the flats near ours:
See how small the sidewalk is on the side streets? It's ridiculous

Such tiny cars! I thought that orangey-brown building was beautiful.

Stupid flash.

I am beautifullllll with my duck lip posing. (haha)

  2. Oh it's a reflection type period, just preparing to be open with people. I didn't end up going though which sucked.

  4. Hey Mary!

Don't the flags look great! The other ones are strung along the top of the living room ceiling. As for the flat... we might get the flat but it's unfortunately not for sure yet. Also we would be moving on Monday so pray for that!

    Love
